Why it matters

A short link is not just a shorter URL. It's a smart routing point that decides at runtime where to send each visitor based on who they are and where they come from. Same link in print, on social, in emails, on badges — different destinations depending on country, operating system, browser language, or A/B random split.

For international marketing campaigns it's a game changer: a single link across all global materials, automatically redirecting Swiss users to the IT site, German users to the DE site, off-target users to the default page. For multi-platform apps: a link that takes iOS to the App Store, Android to the Play Store, desktop to the download site — without intermediate pages and conversion drop-off.

Every short link has its own analytics: total clicks, country distribution, OS, browser, time series. Rules combine — geo + OS + language on the same link, with configurable priority. And short URLs are customizable (e.g. bizcard.ch/link/promo-swiss) to be memorable when printed or read out loud.

How it works

  1. 1

    Create the short link

Pick a memorable slug (e.g. promo-2026) or let it generate a random one. Set a default destination.

  2. 2

    Add the rules

Define destinations per country, OS, browser language. Each rule has configurable priority; the rest goes to the default.

  3. 3

    Distribute and measure

Print the link on materials, drop it in ad campaigns, share it on social. Monitor clicks in real time from the dashboard.

FAQ

What if a visitor doesn't match any rule?

They are redirected to the default destination you set. Rules work like a fallback chain: the most specific match is checked first, then the default.

Can I change rules after publishing the link?

Yes, anytime. Changes are immediate — the next click respects the new rules. The short link itself stays the same.

Does it work with UTM parameters?

Yes. You can add UTM parameters both to the short link and to the final destination. Parameters are propagated for correct attribution in your analytics tools.

How does country detection work?

Through the request IP, with an up-to-date GeoIP database. Precision is at country level (CH, DE, IT) by default, sufficient for the vast majority of marketing cases.

How many short links can I create?

Solo plan: 5 short links, Team: 20, Business: 100. Not included on the Free plan. Every short link has dedicated analytics and unlimited rules.
